Delete your Crimora account
Last updated: 18 October 2026
You can delete your Crimora account, and the personal information linked to it, at any time. Deleting cannot be undone.
In the app
- Open Crimora — the Android app or app.crimora.app — and sign in.
- Tap your initial in the top-right corner.
- Tap Delete account.
- Enter your password and tap Delete my account.
Your account is deleted straight away.
If you can’t use the app
Email admin@crimora.co.za from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account” and your username. We delete the account exactly as the app would, and reply to confirm. We ask for the email to come from the address on the account so that nobody can delete someone else’s.
What is deleted
- Your account: username, email address, password, and phone number if you added one.
- Reports that only you backed.
- Your votes, your confirmations of other people’s reports, and your flags. The counts shown on those reports are corrected.
- Your sign-ins, on every device.
What stays
Reports other people confirmed. A confirmation is another person’s own account of what they saw, so deleting your account does not delete theirs: the report stays on the map for them. It no longer shows your name, your description or your case number, and its location is rounded to about 100 metres.
- Moderation records. We keep a record that reports were changed or deleted, so that disputes and abuse can be looked into. The records made when your account is deleted show only its number, not your username. Earlier records of changes you made to reports can still show your username.
- Backups. Our daily database backups are kept for 14 days, so deleted information is gone from them within 14 days.
